Friday 20/11/15 – Warsaw

Resident cards on the left and travel cards on the right..

Breaking news from Warsaw is that we went to the new Foreigners Office today, and BOTH received our one year Residency cards.. Yeah!!! We are very ‘happy chappies’ indeed!

John was not scheduled to collect his until Monday, however we asked the young lass if it was possible to collect his today as well? She went away and came back all smiles with John’s card. They cost us the princely sum of 50zł ($17.47) each.

We were like a couple of giggly school kids as we went outside the office.  Asked a young lady to take a pic for us, and when she saw the cards, she grinned broadly and said …“Ah, now I see why you are so happy….. and welcome’”.

On the way home we bought a bottle of champagne to celebrate, and also had a shot of cherry vodka when we arrived home…… ‘to seal the deal’.

Jacko and Jadwiga

It has been a long process, but with Jacko and Jadwiga’s assistance, translations and support we made it…. thanks guys!

We can now settle in to enjoy our Polish winter stay. Top of 6 today with a low of 1. Next week is predicted a top of 2 with a low of minus three, and some snow on Thursday, soooo ‘winter is coming’.  We are loving it, and go out walking most days!

You will notice that the blog site has ‘changed a little’. John has been tinkering with it to make it more user friendly, and me thinks he has done a mighty fine job. We hope you like it, and please let us know of any issues, as this is a’ work in progress’…. so to speak.
